Tight or stiff upper back?
Tom shows you a great way to release the tension yourself using a Bakball or other ball.
The Bakball has been specially designed by a Physiotherapist to fit either side of the spine, right on top of the tight strap-like spine muscles.
With Tom’s advice you will learn how best to use the Bakballs including how often, the right technique to use and how long you should hold the release for.
Your upper back is called your thoracic spine. This mid back area of your spine is prone to getting stiff and can develop tight spinal muscles each side of the vertebrae.
We all tend to be stuck sitting too much these days, and the thoracic area of the back does not like it!
Using Bakballs to help release the tightness and stiffness is a great way to help manage this issue.
Other advice includes: move regularly, try to put yourself in a good neutral sitting posture, be more physically active and keep your spine flexible and strong.
