Time to get to know yourself from the inside-out.
Pilates offers you the opportunity to spend a period of time inside your own body.
This might sound strange, but often we walk around all day spending so much time in our heads.
We might not be getting the most out of our body, or using it to its full potential.
To provide additional relaxation, Pilates is best attempted in a relaxed, quiet and calm environment.
Soft music, lights or aroma’s from oils or incense may assist you to set the scene if you have difficulty concentrating.
When we are able to relax into our environment we can start to be mindful of our body.
This is aided by your skilled instructor as they guide your awareness through areas of your body, which is then integrated with controlled movement.
It is an act of mindfulness to ‘tune in’ to our internal muscles and be able to recognise how their activation can be altered to impact the efficiency of any movement.
At myPhysioSA we offer 45 minute classes under guidance and supervision of a physiotherapist for your ‘me time’.
With longer class times, we allow you to work through your self-relaxation, internal control, muscular awareness and muscular activation.
To see how Pilates could help bring more relaxation into your life, please book an Ultrasound Assessment with one of our Pilates Physiotherapists.
This session will show you how to master the principles before trying them at a trial class.
